Shaken Not Stirred
Summer. Need I say more? Well, actually I have a year round job, so summer just means I have to pack lunches for summer programs. Usually PBJ every damn day. It also means that I have a hell of a time convincing my toddler that its bedtime at 7:45 p.m. despite the fact that the sun is still a’shining.
But despite the job thing, I pretty much live in a permanent vacation where I get to spend weekends doing what some only dream of. And sometimes after a long day at the beach, I desire something adult and refreshing. So being the ever creative aquarius soul that I am, I sought some ingredients found in my garden and gave ’em a shake and really made something amazing.
Granted, I will forever be haunted by the fact that I’m a terrible food photographer, but it’s tasty and refreshing and made from ingredients packed with vitamins and good shit.
Here goes:
Basil Lemon Drop Martini
- 1/4 cup lemon
- 3 oz vodka
- 2 1/2 tablespoons sugar
- 4 basil leaves, sliced
Shake em with ice in your martini shaker. Fancier people would spin the rim of the glass in lemon and then sugar, but I just want the júice. I mean isn’t the fact we are using basil fancy enough?
