Astro-Tarot 9/28

A new month arrives this week, and on the 1st day of the 10th month of 2020 we have a Full Moon, round and expectant like a pumpkin. We welcome the golden amber of October skies and feel the waning weeks of the year approaching. This week, I’ve the cards for some good news or at the very least, some good advice. Find your tarot reading by sun sign below.

Libra

(September 23 – October 22)

Queen of Wands

Libra gets a repeat card, the same as last week, and it would seem the Queen of Wands card has something to say. Did you fail to feel your fire, or have you let it burn you out? Sometimes in the effort to find what ignites us we get lost in the details. This week, dear Libra, focus on getting your personal thermostat right. Turn up the heat or turn it down, make sure your efforts and motivation are sustainable and not short lived.

Scorpio

(October 23 – November 21)

Four of Wands

Dare I say it but every Scorpio loves an October, and what’s not to like about the season before the season of Scorpio? The universe grants you permission to rejoice in this season, find any and every reason for (socially distant) festivities or a party of one. Cherish every thrill, every spill and every autumn chill. There’s something about a celebration that gets us through it and pulls us forward. We’ve made it this far, and the cards say to keep the party going.

Sagittarius

(November 22 – December 21)

Five of Wands

Peacekeepers have a special place in this world. In all the chaos, confusion and conflict, it helps to hear a sound and reasonable voice to calm the rest of us down. This week, Sagitarius, even if you feel compelled to participate in some petty, or even particularly important pissing contest, just don’t. Be the grownup in the room and bring logic and balance to the conversation. Lead by example.

Capricorn

(December 22 – January 19)

Ace of Cups

When the Ace of Cups shows up you know something is about to or already has, stirred your heart. Be it a new friend or romantic potential, a furry friend or even a foe who gets you fired up, there is something to be gained and a lesson to be learned here for you. Open your heart to whatever is being offered and know that you will be slightly changed by this emotional growth.

Aquarius

(January 20 – February 18)

IX The Hermit

You know that cliche about Aquarius being a total loner? It’s like, totally somewhat true. So, when The Hermit arrives, Aquarius feels right at home in the lovely solitude of this card. It’s a great quality to know how to be alone and independent, but there’s also something to it being a skill and not an escape. Like all things, there has to be a balance. Embrace your self-reliance, but know that your free spirit can,-and should-exist in a space that is shared with others.

Pisces

(February 19 – March 20)

Knight of Wands

The Knight of Wands is sometimes referred to as a flirt. Despite the negative social presumptions about flirtation behavior, one of it’s definitions is “to behave amorously without serious intent.” This week for Pisces that feels like loving life without a commitment to what that might mean. Falling in love with your life does not need to be a grand gesture that you feel 24/7, it can be a simple moment of appreciation you wake to in the morning even if you might be disappointed later in the day. Just be happy, until you can’t be happy and then be grateful again as soon as you can.

Aries

(March 21 – April 19)

XXI The World

It’s over Aries. But also: it’s starting, Aries. This week, the babydolls of the zodiac find themselves at the crux between the old and the new. You might know what it is or you might just feel it. An unknown closure has occurred and the anticipation of what’s next beckons softly before you. It’s a golden hour vibe. Soak this up and then get started when you feel good and ready. Trust yourself to take on what’s next because you certainly handled what has already happened.

Taurus

(April 20 – May 20)

King of Cups

In the healing world there is a lot of talk about reaching the inner child. It’s probably vital and valid to consider this approach to the innocent soul within. But also consider the aged, wise, cracked and patched together old soul that has existed within all along and grown with you along the years. They need love and attention too. Recognize and appreciate that you’re a little bit older and a little bit wiser and somehow this makes you a little bit more beautiful than you already are.

Gemini

(May 21 – June 21)

Page of Pentacles

Why not be optimistic? There is no shortage of things to worry about, in fact there are a multitude of atrocities that you can access at any time. But consider the usefulness of looking at this world, and observing yourself and your surrounding as if you were seeing it for the first time, through the eyes and optimism of a child. This week, Gemini, your homework is be hopeful, be inspired, be curious, be amazed.

Cancer

(June 22 – July 22)

VIII Strength

If you’ve ever seen a woman in labor, even in the movies, you would know the energy of the Strength card. But it has nothing to do with the sheer force of her body bringing life earthside. Instead, it’s her lazer focus, determination and commitment to a task that is challenging and defies what the mind can wrap itself around. Just like the stages of labor, wanting to give up can be part of the process, but is simply a bridge to cross. Don’t give up, Cancer, get your heart and mind right and the body will follow.

Leo

(July 23 – August 22)

Ten of Pentacles

The brighter cards are sometimes more difficult to talk about than the harder, nastier cards. And the 10 of Pentacles is no exception. In a society hellbent on modesty, one that sometimes shuns pride and encourages constant pursuit of success and riches, it can feel unimaginable to accept the message “you’ve made it.” The 10 of Pentacles celebrates the fruits of your endeavors.  You’ve made it. Your work might not be done but for now, bask in your successes. This is your task this week, Leo.

Virgo

 (August 23 – September 22)

VII The Chariot

You’ve charted your course and now it’s time for warp speed. The Chariot brings an energy that replaces doubt and hesitation with trust and determination. The universe is the wind to your back saying “go!” Whatever you are aiming to do, wherever you are trying to go, you are likely to make it very far with the presence of the Chariot card in this week’s reading. So, Virgo, get going. If you feel unready for the journey, at the very least, make sure you are pointed in the right direction.
